I've also used some special 3M sanding pads that go up to 10,000 grit.  They are used for polishing airplane wind shields.  Enough elbow grease, you can get any result you want.

We use automotive grade polisher after a run with 1200 then 1800 the 2400 wet sand paper, you must clean the surface before attempting to polish and then you need a powered cotton wheel, that works for us

We have installed quite a few SB's over the years and are seeing a
growing number of fogged over display lenses.

We've tried headlight polish with limited success.

Other than purchasing a new lid from SMA does anyone have another
solution to restoring or replacing the window?
