I put a couple of a.c. powered garage door openers in my garage a couple of
years ago. They both had an onboard 12v battery as backup that allowed a few
operations when the grid was down. I used them for a couple of months that way
before I got power run out from the house. I charged them with a small
Morningstar CC and about a 20W module. I bet they could easily do what you are
looking for, and be ready if AC ever makes it to them.I am pretty sure they are
made by Genie, and my model is not made anymore, but they have a current
equivalent.

opener.....
Hi all,   any recommendations where to find 12 or 24v garage door openers.
Can’t remember this coming up on the list beforehand.   It is just for a single
car garage door.    Don’t want to use an inverter, usually better to go direct
to a dc motor.Once I have a suitable opener, I can design the rest of the
system around it.Thanks for any/all input.                               John
