Hi All, I confirmed that a Mate3 with 002.017.000 firmware or later will stop after an EQ cycle if the AGS gen control function is changed from Manual to Auto after the genny is started.

Yes Technically if you do as Jay says it’ll work… There was one firmware version of the mate that this was changed (One of the early 4.?? versions) or fixed, then it was “re-fixed” shortly thereafter, as it was a feature that was unintended. If you have the most recent Mate firmware revision (Mate2, Mate) it’ll work this way. I do not know about the Mate3 as I left Outback shortly after the Mate 3 was released. My problem was the customer just wanted to run the genset periodically to top off the batteries.. He would start the genny in manual (from the mate 2), and as soon as he kicked it into auto, the genny would shut down. As i recall, we found the smoking gun under timers.. If a clock was still running (Or stopped short) you could switch to auto and it would run out the clock. But if the timers were satisfied, AGS would shut down the genny.
