The tables in Appendix C are just for reference. They are not part of the Code. The only real part of the code is in chapter 9: Table 1 Percent of Cross Section of Conduit and Tubing for Conductors and Cables Number of Conductors and/or Cables Cross-Sectional Area (%) 1 53 2 31 Over 2 40 Many conductors do not have standard cross-sectional areas.
