yes, be careful of hook ladders they have been reported to un hook, OSHA I
believe wants tie of on any roof steeper than 4/12 if you are on a hook ladder
or not. Tie off for fall protection, the hook ladder for positioning so that
you can get the work done. I would feel better if the hook ladder were working
above a work platforrm (scaffold)

There are scaffold systems that are designed for latteral force check with your
supplier. I find that working off a JLG is difficult also.
