Howie,
Bob was asking about the SW+, not the SW. I'll send him a pdf of the manual for that unit off-list. Others can contact me off-list if they too wish a copy (I've been collectin' this s**t for years).

I used an SW+2524 in my own home from 2004-2010, given to me by Trace/Xantrex in return for offering feedback on what the SW needed in a major revision. Bob-O will remember that meeting around 2001. Unfortunately, we advised Xantrex to start with a fresh design, but they wanted to keep the existing SW base platform. Shortly after, Xantrex went through both the original SunTie debacle and the SW's loss-of-listing for interconnection debacle, both of which set them back in new product development. By the time the SW+ came out, Outback had released its FX series, which was a better platform back then, especially with real sine-wave waveform, and the SW+ never took off and was eventually discontinued. Note: all of this is just based on my observations - I'm happy to be corrected if I got my story wrong here.

It's too bad, too, because the one I used for about six years was rock-solid reliable, easy and intuitive to navigate, and had excellent surge capacity, especially for 2500W - I never overloaded it. Idle was around 18W, as I recall. Contact me off-list if you have a good job for the SW+ system.

Bob, I don't think the SW+ had genstart built in - it was an extra-cost option, external to the chassis. Are you sure you need the inverter to idle in order for this unit to control the gennie?

Hi Bob,
I'll send you the PDF's I have for the 4024 in a separate private email.
The Spec sheet lists idle consumption as less than 16 watts but my memory
from having measured it at one time several years ago was that it was more
like 40 watts. And remember that there were several firmware revisions so
you need to make sure you have the correct manual. I only have 4.01 and
the 4.10 addendum.

Best,
Howie
