Around most treatment plants, moisture is not the main problem, it is the H2S that is constantly present. At night when it cools off, you can get condensation which picks that up from the atmosphere and makes a weak acid. That can cause corrosion of metal parts much faster than normal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_sulfide

Subject: [RE-wrenches] Installation Environment, Mold

Wrenches,

Hope your days are going well. We have a prospective customer (adjacent to
a sewer treatment plant) who is concerned that there may be an issue with
mold growth on or under the PVL laminate modules that we are planning to
install. The PVL module datasheet states that the adhesive has a microbial
inhibitor but the customer does not believe that inhibitor alone will
prevent mold from growing on, under or around the modules. The customer
also suggests that the environment will be more acidic than typical. They
have inquired as to how the pv equipment may be affected by these items over the installation's lifetime. So, does anyone have industry experience with
either or both of these environmental concerns? How might the customer's
concerns be addressed/alleviated? Thanks much.

Thank you,

Randy Hatch
