If we had a national solar installers association this would be the type of support we each would have to fight our own city halls.
If we cannot provide these small county governments with our own "standard installation guidelines" to follow when making their new regulations, then they each will come up with their own standards to follow. Years ago all the separate installers of ductwork and heating and air conditioning systems were faced with the same type problems. Each locality was requiring different installation requirements, different spacing of duct supports, different duct thickness, different radius of turns, ect. They all got together nationally and started the Sheet Metal Contractors National Association "SMACNA" which now publishes multiple installation and code books that I guarantee you are on the bookshelves of every design engineer and code official in the US who is involved with inspecting air conditioning and heating systems. Just another example of the type of support we are not getting from any other national association. Jeff Yago _____________________________________________________________ Netscape.
