All, There are lots of problems with the facts of this article. The biggest problem is that people will read it and believe it. We have our work cut out on the training side of things. I am personally working with fire fighters and the solar industry to put together some "Myth Buster" style tests to demonstrate the hazards. This article certainly adds fuel to the mistaken understandings of fire fighters.

The source of the article is here http://firefighterclosecalls.com/fullstory.php?77468 All of the roofs I do only have solar on one side of them. If a firefighter needed to put a hole in the roof, he'd go to the north side rather than hacking through glass.
