Jeff, I am not sure of the input Voltage characteristics of the AEI GC-1000, but I know that PV Powered has a new 1000 Watt inverter that is a 120 Vac output. They also have a variation of this model that is called the "EVR" or Expanded Voltage Range, which has a much wider Voltage window. It may or may not work for you, but it is probably worth a look.

Grid-Tie Inverters Hi Jeff, Yep the AEI GC-1000 Not being made anymore, nor as far as I know is anyone servicing these units. Best bet is to rewire the array for higher voltage and use a new inverter. Not too many other options that I know of. jay peltz power On Sep 23, 2008, at 11:42 AM, Jeff Yago wrote: Anybody out there familiar with the Advanced Energy Inc. grid-tie inverter? I was called to a school with an existing defunct pole-mounted 1 kW array and high up on the pole was an inverter made by these guys. I could not get access to the unit as I was only checking for what was there now, but it was an outdoor enclosure that was tall and narrow, with the AC and DC bkrs located near the bottom under a clear flex-rubber type cover. It appears this is a 120 VAC output inverter in the 1 to 1.5 kW size range, and includes a remote display connected by a phone type cable. I could not find any information that this inverter is still being made, and estimate it is about 4 years old. Thanks, Jeff Yago ________________________________ Netscape.
