Bar end brake levers give you a completely free bar from your shifters to the end . I tried mtb levers at first, and it just seemed awkward to me and a waste of hand space. The Bar end levers to me are a marriage made in heaven for Alba type bars !! And being reversed .... I find it even easier to use the levers from any position, and can even be pulsed with one or two of my smallest fingers.
