Well, that may well be, but it does not answer why with other
googlegroups lists such as Internet-BOB, those reading the messages as
separate emails have the option of reply to author or reply all, with
the former going to the author and the latter to the list, while with
this list all replies, whether to author or to all go to the list. This
is a matter of how the group is configured.
I'm an admin on the internet-BOB list. I'm looking at an admin screen
for that list now. In the Settings->Email options screen, there is a
section called "Post replies" with a drop-down list. IBOB is configured
with the choice "Users decide where their replies are sent." There are
other choices, as seen here. I'm confident that the setting chosen for
RBW is "To the entire group." The list administrator can change this
with just a couple of clicks.
