> > Bars are all the way up. Saddle in KOPS.
I don't have a great way to confidently articulate the possible biomechanical issues with Albas such as I've experienced in the past, so I'll ask: Have you tried scooting the seat back so you're a couple of centimeters behind KOPS? If so, have you tilted the nose up on the saddle any? And finally, have you played around with *lowering* the bars a bit so that the top of the stem is somewhere near level with the nose of the saddle? Reason I ask is that my bike currently sports Albatross bars, and I when I first got 'em, I couldn't for the life of me get comfortable in a truly bolt upright position. As my back approached 90 degrees with top tube, a whole 'nother subset of core muscles seemed to take over, and my arms felt very limited and useless. They felt kinda short. I found that by slowly playing with the seat setback, and dialing in the height of the bars to slightly lower than I'd seen in most Riv-esque pics where they're almost in your lap, I felt like I was able to engage a more comfortable range of core muscles, and being further over the top tube with the bars further away, my reach felt extended. My hands are now comfortable in all the Alba positions, but I find that probably 2/3 of the time I've got my palm up against the back of the brake levers, and a finger or two in front of them. I'm only really totally grips-in-hand when I'm shifting, making myself seen in traffic, or idly cruuuuuuising. Anyhoo, just my experience with Albas. Your mileage may vary, as mine are measured in kilometers. Jeff Hagedorn Warragul, VIC Australia -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
