I'm hoping the group can help me figure something out. I bought a cool-looking frame pump at a yard sale here in town a few weeks ago. Photos here:

The hole that the valve fits into seems to be too small. In fact, I can't really get a valve into it. If there's any air in the tube at all, pushing the valve into the pump even a bit causes it to all leak out (by pressing on the nut on the Presta valve). I tried backing off on the brass fitting; that didn't help. Am I doing something wrong?
