I used the cheapie Sun Race thumbies on my wife's initial Yves Gomez build, 
with Albas.  I hated them.  They just felt so cheap and janky.  The real 
deal killer was that the frictiony part could not be tightened enough to 
hold the front der in place, and I was not using an unusually strong return 
spring front der.  So I trashed them.  I think I literally threw them away, 
but I can check my parts box.  The right worked OK.  If I still have them 
I'd mail them to you free, if you pay postage.  Let me know if you want to 
try them.
