Why not ? Same reason people buy a Phil BB or hubs, cartridge bearings don't need frequent maintenance . Sure, they cost more upfront, but so what really. What price can you put on your time less spent doing overhauls ?
You can the same of any thing. Why pay for a Brand X Frame when a Brand YZ doesn't break either ? What determines the value I place upon anything ?
