As I recall, there are a couple of restaurants in San Simeon, but it's not a very big town. Hearst Castle is amazing to visit if you've never been there. I've camped at San Simeon, Oceano and Morro Bay; as I recall, Morro Bay was the nicest.
I also recall once, a long long time ago, riding north from Morro Bay up Big Sur. Beautiful, but very very strong headwinds. That was in the spring; the summer has smaller winds I think.
