On my Rambouillet, I found that fastex buckles work really well to secure the 
large saddle sack.  Half the fastex is triple zipped tied to each Brooks saddle 
hoop. The other side is attached to the bag with short leather straps.  The bag 
sits flat on a Nitto mini rack with a light nylon strap wrapped under the bag 
around the rack. Of course I can't see the bag when I ride, but it feels pretty 
stable.  I've also used this setup for years with a Carradice Long Flap.  
Cheap, easy on and off and very convenient for commuting where I can't leave 
the bag on the bike.
