To add to what Grant said: I use 60 mm 700c Berthoud fenders with 60 mm Big Apples and there are no clearance issues whatsoever—in fact I still spaced the fenders away from the frame—because the frame has so much tyre clearance. Having said that, the fenders are only just wide enough to cover the tyres.
