Thanks for this, Steve; will put this aside for future reference (and thanks to the others, too -- must keep Handspun in mind). Good to hear that Sun rims are still good buys; am still running M14As and ME14As from almost 20 years ago (in the 559 and 571 sizes).
Almost bought an Alex R500 or somesuch wheelset on Craigslist today: http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/bik/3699216171.html $80 is good, but they are marginally appropriate, aesthetically, and the reviews on RBR gave them a 2.35 out of 5, with many comments about rust, breaking spokes, etc, so I passed. Might as well hold out for something decent and silver for this keeper of a bike. Am keeping both the Handspun/buy new and Build Your Own For Once, Dammit! options open. Must see what Stevie has this week in hubs and rims.
