Trying to get my ride report in before Jenny does because she does a better
job.
When Jenny asked if we could redo the last Diablo ride but with mountain
bikes I didn't think she meant super suspension mountain bike riding.
I pretty lucky and naive when it comes to my bike riding and
I'm incredibly lucky to have a bike that compensate for my stupid
decisions(most of the time).
Jenny invited her "Ride On" crew with their new fancy jersey. We had a big
group of 8 with their full suspension mountain bikes and me in my vans and
basket non-suspension bikes. It looked pretty funny. We rode up the road
and when we got to the ranger station I found out that one of my brake pad
for my front left brake was missing. Nothing cotton handlebar tape wrap
could't fix! I magyvered my new cotton brake pad and made sure I used my
rear for the descents. We took a pretty chill pace as we rode up to Juniper
with the exception of Shawn who flew passed roadies and waited an hour for
us at the campgrounds. Off on to Burma Trail we were greeted with howling
wind and thick fog. I took my sweet time coming down walking some sections,
apparently your braking is compromised when you only have your rear brake;
who would of thought? We extended the ride once we got back on the road by
taking BBQ Terrace to get some river crossing in. We finished the ride with
wet feet and huge smiles We even washed our bikes at the last park with the
hose there. Great to meet so many new friends. Looking forward to riding
more with such a great group.

Pictures of wet feet prove that the ride was good.
