There have been several successful 26 > 650b conversions with a few different canti variants. In talking with people about this conversion Ive been told it wont work for several reasons. Brakes wont fit. Bottom Bracket will be too high. You wont be able to run anything wider than a 32. The whole bike will explode if you tough a 650b wheel to it.
It's fun to experiment, nothing is permanent, and I'll miss every ball I dont swing at.
