I have cork w/ bar ends on a 'bars and cloth tape on some Bosco's. Both
shellac'ed which helps tremendously with the dirt and water. I tried ergots,
which w/ the sweep seemed to work better inverted with the extra part faced
inward. They were fine, but not necessary. The shellac'ed cork does get a lot
of compliments, some folks thinking it's wood, others wondering just what the
he'll it is and some folks just admiring. I will say the solid cork from
Rivendell seems to hold up better than the scrap cork and glue of other brands.
They age very beautifully too.
