Saw them when they changed their name to Jefferson Starship on the great lawn Central Park NYC 73'-74'. Free concert. Marty Balin and Grace. Got up close to the stage and saw people doing some fliped out shit!! I was 13 at the time and it opened my eyes to what was going on.. Alot of those bands hit it at the right time. The music is good. Plenty of other bands came and went that didn't get the attention they derserved. Like alot of art I think you have to be hanging with the "IN" crowd to get exposure.
