If I had to go to town wailin' on something, then no, I'd not use it; reason I 
like it is I don't have to clamp my bikes' top tubes into the bikestand's clamp 
(my seat posts don't stick out enough for the clamp to grab); this adapter can 
hold my bikes by the seat post for doing tweaks (brake adjustments, rack 
installation, fender install, shifter adjustments, etc).

Regarding my Ram, this isn't a deal, but one thing I have noticed for my Bomba, 
which is a heavier frame/fork that's also racked/fendered/bagged, my bike is 
heavy enough that it slowly slides down, until the upper of the grabber posts 
has the saddle resting on it... Therefore, I wouldn't want to leave a bike in 
the stand for an extended period; just stick it up there, adjust, then take it 
back down...
