My son has been on a Fuji Ace 20 for almost a year now, he got it on his
sixth b-day. I found it online from a shop in FL. and it wasn't more than
$260.00 total, shipped. It's been great for him, he's learned to shift
(seven speed grip shift type on flat bars) and easily mastered hand brakes.
He was a little weirded out by the 20 x 1" tires but soon forgot all about
it after winning a race on father's day in Harlem ... kids, boys anyway, I
think, like to go fast! The thing pulls in compliments like a magnet also,
which, tends to build confidence in little guys. He's going to outgrow it
quick though. They make a 24" wheel version with drop bars and a 650c too.
I think Fuji makes a lot of them, which is why you can find them cheaply if
you noodle around on-line. Certainly less that the 24" Felt or the Redline
24.
