In my case it was not so dire nor malicious. I really wanted to try Hetres and the Atlantis was the only one ( of around 10 bikes) that would fit them. Short of obtaining another frame, it was the choice. I have often thought and said that if I had to live with only one bike ( oh my!), it would be the Atlantis with several wheelsets.
