I'm going with Mitch on this one. I used to secretly yearn to be hip but found myself on the trailing edge of whatever is cool, so I just gave it up as yet another unattainable goal. And now I find my choice of bicycle is cool!
A few years ago, a couple of my touring buds & I were coming down the Oregon coast, self contained. With 4 bags & more crap-on-the-rack, it's hard to tell what color a bicycle is, let alone make or model. We took a break at a park as a crew for one of the big bike touring companies was setting up lunch for their clients. One guy recognized my Atlantis, dropped what he was doing & came over to chat about the bike, our trip, etc., etc. You'd think a guy who works for a touring company would have seen a lot of bikes but he really appreciated the Atlantis. My guess is he really wanted to quit shuttling people up hills, fixing flats and making lunches and just wanted to take off on his own bike. To plagiarize Mark Twain: "Get an Atlantis, you will not regret it." dougP On Jun 13, 2:43 pm, Big Paulie <pauldgr...@yahoo.com> wrote: > "All Atlantis owners are hipsters under the skin.
