Kevin: It's funny you mention this... Amtrak has been promising (and is so far a year late in providing) roll-on/roll-off service on the Capitol Limited train that serves the region. Despite numerous letters and pressure on Amtrak, they're still supposedly working on it but will no longer commit to a date.
I'm guessing you had to box up your bike (which you can do from Union Station in Chicago), but I don't believe we can do this between Connellsville and Cumberland... there are no baggage services in Connellsville. It would be GREAT to park at EITHER end and roll on to the train to transport to/from your car, but it apparently ain't happenin' just yet.
