I'm not usually one for new year's resolutions, but since I was fairly
successful at my one resolution in 2011 (non-bike-related, it was simply to
eat oatmeal for breakfast more consistently), i thought i'd try a couple of
modest ones this year.

-One is to keep track of my riding a bit more. I've never really liked
riding with an odometer, and I'm trying to think less about distance and
more about consistency, so counting miles or km isn't really good for me.
Instead, i've decided to try to keep a logbook, like the ones all pilots
use to keep track of their flight hours. I'm not being incredibly exacting
about anything, just writing down the date of the ride and about how long I
was out, a description of where I went, and how I was feeling in general.
-Related to this is to try to ride--any distance--180 days out of the year
(in the non-bike related realm I'd also like to write something at least
180 days as well).

Other than that, even without resolutions, it will to be a pretty big year
for me. I'm getting married in July, and I'm also working on developing a
research project for my PhD dissertation that I'm pretty excited about.

Here's to it!
