I suggest a hybrid of your routing and old, 3-speed cabling as shown here:

You'll need a cable stop for the top tube, a pulley for the seat tube, and a 
cable stop for the seatstay. All are available at Harris Cyclery and should 
cost you about $15.  Much cleaner than all that housing.
