YMMV > Wow, how low is your gearing? May be you need a triple? Many here use gears as low as 22x34 and usually have no problems climbing. Further, if riding more than 50 miles makes you "suffer," perhaps a check up is in order. As for walking, I hate doing it when I'm on a bike. Finally, if you need to develop your walking muscles, how about climbing more stairs? I do that at work instead of taking the elevator.
I commute with MKS touring and for my 10 mile ride, enjoy them as I can wear any shoe I want. However, on longer rides of say 40 miles or more, give me my Speedplay Frogs! I have wide feet and use Shimano shoes. I prefer the attachment as I can pull up on my pedals and don't have to worry about my foot sliding off the pedal, especially on fast downhills. Of course, this is nothing but anedotal and like saddles, is personal to you. Good Luck! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
