I'm built similarly and love drop bars and can't get comfortable on
anything else (I've tried them all, too). I find drops particularly
useful with ss and fixed gears because these require, or can require,
a wider range of power outputs, and different hand/arm/body positions
favor different power outputs: as you notice when you get forward and
low.

What has your problem with drops been? I've found that saddle position
is one of the keys to comfortable arms, neck and shoulders.

When all the stars are dead.
