hey all,

thanks for all the advice. good ideas and lots of them! so to answer
some questions, there is no play in the hub, i'm familiar with that
issue, but good idea. and y'all are right, the sound doesn't seem to
be coming from the hub, and other thing i mentioned was that if i spin
the wheel with no weight on it is goes and goes and goes with no
sounds... seems like its working great right? so i was intrigued by
the rim issue... i have sunrim cr18s on, and this might be it. but,
i'm starting to suspect that the issue is badly tensioned spokes. i
hoped this wasn't it since a friend made the wheel for me, and i have
built 3 wheels myself, but still have low confidence and didn't want
to take it apart and put it back together. maybe i should take it to
a lbs to get that done... i tried truing it, like i said, hoping to
adjust the tension, but its likely that they are badly tensioned. if
people have other ideas, i'd welcome them, but i'll update you all in
(weeks months?) when i get around to rebuilding or having my front
wheel rebuilt.
