Bill That's a really really good guess. So close, but no. I went and threw conventional wisdom a curveball, followed the Mile example and set up a 700C kit for my erstwhile 650B A. Homer Hilsen. Now I can switch back and forth in ~20 minutes. It looks like fenders will only fit with really skinny tires, but I have room for Ruffy Tuffys. I have 28s on there now.
After seeing people over and over try a 650B conversion on a 700C bike and end up with a too-low BB, it made sense to me to start with a really low BB 650B bike and have an alternate configuration with 700C raise it up a touch. The difference in BB height as pictured with 700x28s is only ~6mm higher than it is with Hetres. I had the wheelset and the brakeset on hand anyway, so it cost me nothing but effort to try it out. I truly don't know if it's Einstein or Frankenstein, but throwing this together makes it significantly easier to hold off on buying a Roadeo. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45758191@N04/5467058331/ On Feb 21, 5:46 pm, Bill <webe...@gmail.com> wrote: > "...
