I have that chain but a different pad lock. Only downside is the weight. Patrick's solution - living the device on a rack you frequent - is the best if practical where you ride. Somewhat difficult in my area because there are so many cyclists and so few racks. I use the lock and chain on a bike in my storage room. If a miscreant ever managed to get through the main door and my room door, h/she would find an even more formidable security device to defeat.
