Mike, I rode through Portland this past summer and saw those designated bicycle parking spaces downtown around Pearl district(?) and Powell's books. They were heavily utilized too. It was the coolest thing I'd seen in any town I'd been through. OK maybe it was a tie with the bike lanes down the middle of the street.
