My sidewalls (and often tread) start drying out and cracking after a year or so, long before the tread is worn. Panaracer made tires (Pasela, RT, CdlV) are the worst. I'm 100% sure it's due to having my bikes in a broiling-hot corrugated shed, but you work with whatcha' got...
