That's the pattern I settled into too, though I use Woolite or
somesuch instead of Kookaburra. I've never had appreciable shrinkage
with any of the wool I've gotten from RBW or Ibex; in fact I've been
able to stretch it marginally. But these $20 items are not knit like
any of those garments; the're nowhere near as dense. I'll see how they
turn out.
