I love the Marathon Extremes! I have a set 700x40 that I've ridden a few times but not for a long time since I went with the 50s on the Bombadil/Atlantis. I used them on a mixed ride and thought they were awesome in both dirt and pavement. I couldn't feel any sluggishness on the road and the grip was fantastic on the dirt.
