Would you put a tire that measures up at 44-46mm in a 50mm (2") chainstay? This leaves approx. 3mm clearance a side. Is this too close? My bike mechanic thinks so. I'm thinking of putting Big Apples on my old MB-6 and the Apples measure up at 44mm according to the Riv site. Would love to try the fat, cushy tires somehow.
