I can't say I understand the need for this either? I must be missing something - what does this stuff do that low end Shimano wouldn't do?
I can understand Riv selling low-end thumb shifters, because there's a big leap from $16 to $150+ for DuraAce/Thumbies. But a low end Alivio or something rear derailer can be had for under 30 bucks.
