I have four bikes with m'bars and while I love them, sympathize with the handlebar bag issues. I've found the following to be my favs: The Keven's bag / Sackville SaddleSack is fantastic, carries more than you'd think, and can go front or back. The SaddleSack has the advantage of easy tabs to open it one-handed and the reflector strip. The other great option is a Mark's rack and a L'il Loafer or a small Sackville TrunkSack. These two options are not mutually exclusive, and one can put other larger things in the rack as well.
