Ok, I'll go. I had a Grand Cru seatpost clamp shear. This was the round part that the rear bolt screws into. Kinda scary but the saddle stayed in place long enough that I could climb off safely.
I weigh 210 and ride semi off road at times so maybe that had something to do to it though I would hope a seatpost clamp could handle that. VO took care of me and sent another clamp very quickly and I sent them a photo detailing the break for their info. I'm trying the Grand Cru seat post one more time as it's the only (affordable) seat post with the setback I need to ride a Brooks saddle. Keeping my fingers crossed. I wouldn't hesitate to order a number of other parts from them and am about to buy a stem and the Grand Cru brakes. Possibly the crankset later in the year.
