Will do, on the updates. Full on Rando bike.
So far: 1" tubing, Sachs fork crown [possibly change that though, thinking about options there ~would go with one of Bob's custom crowns, but they are too wide for this build], fully lugged [of course], 130mm spacing in the rear, might step into foreign waters and go with a threadless steerer this time around [which of course allows for some neat and inventive legroom for Bob to work some magic up front] and 'yep' to front/rear racks + fenders. No super-fat/no super-narrow tires, just super medium. ;-) Most exciting for me [well, all of it is exciting!]... Bob has asked me, and it makes sense based on our relationship, to let him really fly this solo. We discussed basic details, wants/needs sorta stuff... and past that he said, "You trust me, that I know... let me go alone on this. I know what you love, I know what you're aiming for, I know what you've got planned for your next 2-3 years on a bike, and I know what you've accomplished on a bike so far." He pretty much wrapped everything up with 'So, let me build you this bike solo: it'll ride like you cannot imagine, and visually with the little details I've got planned for things, the integration of things, the lug carvings, all of it... well, let's leave it at, it's going to be the most stunning bike I've ever built, period." I couldn't really argue or disagree -on any level- with that kind of plan. Really that's about it for now. Oh, and it's 700c and going to be S&S coupled too. -Scott On Jul 15, 8:41 am, Shaun Meehan <meehan.sh...@gmail.com> wrote: > That's awesome! I'd be excited too.
