I'll join the Bike Friday mega-tangent! I had a second-hand All-Packa that was quite large - I never got the geometry chart for it, but its effective top tube was somewhere in the 600mm range. I am 5'8" but I liked that I could run it with a very short stem because I added the Brompton carrier block, and this gave better clearance to the larger bags. However, it did mean that it didn't fold as small. I was trying to pack it for a plane trip to visit the in-laws, and discovered that it would not fit a non-oversize luggage case. They advertise being able to fit their 20" models in a 30" case, which is usually at the 62 linear inch limit, but I needed a 32" which would put me around 68". Still better than a bike bag, and good chance they won't charge oversize (especially if they don't notice the extra couple inches), but I was disappointed since this was the whole concept for the bike.
It did ride great though. Mine had a weirdly high BB (like, 305mm!) which I found kind of annoying for city use since the saddle was correspondingly higher off the ground, but they are great riding and very capable bikes. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "RBW Owners Bunch" group.
