The original post might be a little aggressive, but I'm not offended.

I am also guilty as charged. I have bought six Rivendells: first a 
Quickbeam, then a Custom, then a Hubbuhubbuh, a Roadeo, a Rambouillet and 
another Custom. I still have five (the first Custom was stolen).

And I have acquired several bikes after the last Riv. Notably a Masi Gran 
Criterium, a Peugeot PX 10, a '60s Bianchi Specialissima and a Bilenky 
Viewpoint. Amusingly, all my bikes are steel (and this is not all of them). 
Although I would jump at a chance to get an aluminum Cunningham.
