Patrick,
Where were you when I was trying to sell my late 90's Road Standard frame
in May? It's a 57. After only a couple lowball (to me) offers, I decided to
keep it, re-build it with Choco bars and since then, I've put more than
1800 miles on it and it has become my favorite bike for most things. It,
too, is mostly 753 tubing, so not the lightest, but it rides really well
and makes my Appaloosa feel sluggish by comparison. I'm faster on my little
carbon aero bike (Felt AR1 team I got for less than the shifters should
cost) but I'm not as comfortable or confident for long distances. (as an
aside, the Choco bars set up like I have them are even better than the
drops on the Felt as the main "on the hoods" position is wonderful, but I
can sit more upright when braking, which is handy in the city).

The new Rons mid reach country road bike
<https://ronsbikes.com/products/mid-reach-road-bike> sounds pretty similar
to what you're looking for if you're more into US made, super light,
sloping & modern geo. Twice as much as the Crust, but it looks pretty nice
to my eyes.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Best,
Eric
