Hello — I've been running my Orthos for over a year with a 26.0 Technomic, no slippage. I've long suspected what Brian Turner confirms: The widest Toscos are quite similar to the Orthos. One more confirmation. I actually just logged in to mention this, having forgotten to mention it the first time I read this thread. The two bars are virtually identical in terms of grip position. I posted several side-by-side images somewhere in the list, within the last year or so. I'll see if I can find the thread when I have time. I have two of each, I love them so much. FWIW, I have also slowly been transitioning most of my bikes to steel bars. There are some things more important than weight, and there's no equivalent to a stiff, wide bar that doesn't flex away from you when you jump out of the saddle, and lets you throw your weight side to side for sprinting or climbing. Now that the industry has FINALLY started offering wide-enough bars, the flex thing becomes more noticeable. The extra peace of mind knowing steel is not going to fatigue like aluminum is nice, too. In my mind, there's no question that the normal clamp diameter and graceful curves of the Ortho bars are better looking. But the knurled 31.8 clamp area of the Toscos would solve your slipping issue once and for all. WITH the benefits of being steel. I do hope to have a steel or Ti set bent up by Doom eventually, but I am loving this bar over any other swept bar I’ve tried. I tried Billy bars before the Ortho's, which technically has the same two hand positions. I found them to be too narrow while climbing out of the saddle and did not stabilize my upper body enough to really put power down. This may be irrelevant if you don't have mountains to climb frequently, but I do. As a 5'11" male with a built physique, I appreciate having adequate leverage on the bars when out of the saddle, but still find them to be incredibly comfortable when upright and relaxed. Allows lots of control and keeps my chest wide and open. On Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 9:01:43 AM UTC-7 drew.jo...@gmail.com wrote: For what it’s worth. Bars are still holding! I've tried maybe 5 other bars over the last year and always come back to Ron's. I'm tempted to try them on my Sam but I think I'd have issues with reach restrictions. In this case I feel as if they are made for the bike and absolutely perfect proportionally and fit the build to a T. Have you had a chance to take it for a ride?
