Good news! I am glad to hear you are happy with the Sam handling
afterall.
This is how I set up my poor-substitute for an Atlantis.

The Duo front rack is so minimal and sturdy. It does have only a 10.75
pannier attach distance, compared to 12.75 distance on the rear Tubus
Cargo. I am becoming addicted to the Nitto M12 for bags or basket, and
to hold a headlight, and provide a 3rd fender mounting point.
